Kings acquire Three

The Kingsville Kings Junior 'A' Hockey Club is proud to announce the signing of three key players who will be a big part of the Kings success this winter. The three players who signed their GMHL Cards this week are Matthias Gardiman, Jake Rushlow, and Nick Nigro all who are junior 'A' veterans and will have a major impact on the club. 

Nick Nigro (Forward - 1996 - Thunder Bay North Stars)
Nick is a Natural goal scorer who tied for second overall in goals for the SIJHL with 31; he also had 13 assists for 43 points in 50 games last season.  The 8th Round OHL draft pick also had 10 points in 8 playoff games and is sure to step in and compete as an elite player in the league. "Nick is a player who can flat out score. He sees the ice well and competes hard; I am really looking forward to having him in Kingsville this winter. Nick is a player that many NCAA schools will want on their roster" stated Head Coach Gary Astalos.

Matthias Gardiman (Forward - 1994 - Thunder Bay North Stars)
Matthias is a talented forward who was 4th overall in the SIJHL with 70 points in only 54 games. The Thunder Bay product was also clutch down the stretch with 6 goals and 7 helpers for 13 points in 8 playoff games. "Matthias is a player who will lead our team immediately. He is a natural playmaker and will put up a lot of points in our league; he is a player that will eventually transition to the professional level very easily." stated Head Coach Gary Astalos.

Jake Rushlow (Defensman - 1996 - Seguin Huskies)
Jake is a stay at home defensman who recently played for the Russell Cup finalist Seguin Huskies. Jake is a gritty D who is very strong and reliable in the D zone. Rushlow had 27 points in 52 games with the huskies including 136 PIMS. "I am very happy to have Jake in Kingsville this year; hes a very good d-man and I am looking forward to him having a very strong sophomore season of junior hockey" stated Head Coach Gary Astalos.
